AETESS TECHNICAL SAFETY GUIDES
These four technical guides are part of the “Technical Audiovisual Guide for Promoting Work Safety in the Special Foundations Sector” project, financed by the Spanish Work Risks Prevention Foundation and developed in collaboration with FECOMA-CCOO y UGT-MCA.
This initiative originated in our Safety Committee. It is the most complete project on safety related to work in special foundations and soil treatments to date. Every department from the companies involved participated in its development (staff, production, machinery, and management), and it illustrates the importance of the projects carried out by our association to promote safety within the special foundations and soil treatment sector.

AETESS TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS
In recent years, our Technical Committee has coordinated collaboration agreements with different organizations in order to conduct research on specific areas related to the execution of geotechnical works, which had not been sufficiently studied in Spain due to their high level of specialization.
The documents have been prepared by working groups within the AETESS Technical Committee, and the information used has been provided by our member companies, who have used the procedures described throughout different projects in order to test and develop them.

GUIDES CREATED BY THE EFFC
Following our interest in bringing together the latest work from our field, we are also offering the following guides created by the European Federation of Foundation Contractors (EFFC), one of which has been translated to Spanish by AETESS.
EFFC/DFI CARBON CALCULATOR
The EFFC and DFI have created a tool that will calculate the CO2 emissions of foundation and geotechnical works. It is designed to allow contractors and commissioning organisations alike to assess the carbon footprint of their projects.
The EFFC/DFI Carbon Calculator has been developed using verifiable, standardised data to enable accurate benchmarking of competing project proposals. Prior to its development there existed no single standardised tool for calculating CO2 emissions for these types of ground works.
The tool also allows contractors to compare and contrast different technical approaches within the same project and see what the CO2 emissions will be.
PUBLICATIONS IN COLLABORATION WITH CEDEX
AETESS collaborates with many external entities in order to promote research and training. One of such entities is the Spanish Center for Studies and Experimentation in Public Works (CEDEX). The following documents have been developed with them.

SAFETY TRAINING MANUALS FOR SPECIALISTS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE FLC
The following manuals have been developed in collaboration with the Spanish Construction Labor Foundation (FLC) as part of the program led by AETESS to promote training and safety among specialists. These manuals are required materials in training to become a Licensed Special Foundations Operator in Spain.
All the manuals in this program have been developed by a multi-disciplinary team made up of technical specialists within the production, maintenance, and safety departments of our member companies. Their design and educational adaptation has been carried out by technical professionals at the Spanish Construction Labor Foundation (FLC), and coordinated by the AETESS Safety Committee.
