The European Green Deal constitutes the ambitious growth strategy of the European Union, to place Europe on the path of transformation towards a climate-neutral, equitable and prosperous society, with a modern and competitive economy that uses resources efficiently. In this effort, dams play a fundamental role on various fronts that must be reviewed, and that will be addressed in this conference: The integration of energy systems (with reversible reservoirs - such as energy storage, the influence of the National Integrated Energy Plan and Climate (PNIEC) or the water footprint of energy production); adaptation to climate change (considering the possible decrease in the quality of drinking water, the role that reservoirs can play in managing floods and droughts,
